Alex Polizzi visits the commuter town of Horley to check into family run budget bed and breakfast Gatwick Turret. The 10-bedroom Victorian guest house is a mile from Gatwick Airport, and is one of over 100 hotels, including big chain brands, fiercely vying for their business. Wrestling with high overheads, the family of three are running the hotel almost single-handedly to keep staffing costs down. Alex finds tired mismatched decor and a family desperate to turn things around. With so much competition in the area, and a very price sensitive market, Gatwick Turret is a challenge.
